2015: The Year That Was

2015 has been a great year. A roller coaster ride, with more highs than lows. As I look back, there’s so much that happened – new job, new countries, new places, new food, new friends. Let’s see:

  • The year started after a very refreshing and adventurous trip to Bali, Lombok and Gili Islands.
  • In January, I started working on Future Urban Mobility research in Singapore doing what I love doing – Data Visualization.
  • Made the most amazing friends
  • Watched a great concert "Kaleidoscope" by Shankar Mahadevan.
  • Won a stay at The Ritz Carlton – Club Premiere! Woohoo!
  • My smart husband got his THIRD (!!!!!) degree.
  • Thanks to my amazing employers and my husband’s amazing school, tasted some of the finest wines in Ritz Carlton, Shangri-La-Rasa and Pan Pacific, Singapore.
  • Lived in a mansion listed as one of the Top Ten “Haunted” Places in Singapore. Eerie!
  • More travel and more passport stamps in Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia.
  • New cultures, new cuisines, new recipes. Hellooo Fish Amok, Banana Flower salad and Sago-Pumpkin pudding!
  • Reunion with family! Had missed them all so much!
  • Family trip to Konkan, India. More beautiful beaches and sunsets.
  • A revival of my blog. Falling in love with writing yet again. Working on something new [winks]
  • Last and the most important, a lifestyle change and a philosophy change - more to follow on that in the new year. Stay tuned!

The mind works in wonderful ways. When you list down the things you are grateful for, your perspective changes. Your sorrows seem lesser and your heart feels lighter. Try it!

And on that note, let’s welcome 2016!
